Your knowledgeable guide will highlight such sights as the beautifully preserved Temple of Hadrian, the magnificent Trajan Fountain, the Odean Theater once used for both political and entertaintment purposes,and the amazing Celsus Library with its imposing faced and to story corinthian-style columns.The dramatic Great theatre is one of the few structures still used today. İt seats twenty-five thousand and, altough it was once an arena for gladiator games, it is now home to annual spring festivals.
Next; Terrace Houses which From the time of Augustus, these dwellings of wealthy Ephesians, were decorated with beautiful frescoes and mosaics. The houses had luxurious bedrooms, bathrooms, triclinium, and kitchens. Archeologisit have been excavating 7 houses owned by the richest Ephesians. These were high ranking officers, govemors and rich trades man.
After lunch in local restaurant continiue on to the İsa Bey Mosque:is one of the most delicate examples of Seljukian architecture,situated below the bassilica of Saint john. The mosque was built by the master Syrian architecture Ali son of Mushimis al-Damishki between the years of 1374 and 1375.
Our last visiting place is Temple of Artemis considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, Ephesus’ Temple of Artemis was dedicated to the goddess of the hunt. Only the foundation and one column remains of this temple which once measured 425 feet long, 220 feet long. Paul’s successful ministry in this city was considered a threat to this very temple.
