Day 1 Arrive Istanbul
Upon arrival at Ataturk Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Istanbul. You have leisure time for the rest of the day. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 2 Istanbul Sightseeing Tour
Following breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day tour of the UNESCO site of Sultanahmet Old Istanbul with an extensive guided walking tour. Firstly we visit Hagia Sophia Museum. Built in the 6th century AD and then converted in a mosque in 1453 it was the first large domed building of the world and religious focal point of the Orthodox Church for 1000 years. We learn its history from our expert local guide and have a look at its unique decoration from Byzantine and Turkish periods. Unlike of most city tours, our guide will also take us to the upper galleries. We enjoy a short walk from here across to Blue Mosque which owes its fame to the exquisite blue Iznik Tiles adorning its interior walls. Next; Topkapi Palace This extra ordinarary and full of secrets, palace was the residance of the Imperial Ottoman Sultans and center of the Ottoman Ampire for nearly 400 years. The building is a typcial example of Ottoman architecture and the rooms exhibits rich collections of porcelains, robes, weapons, shields, armours, Ottoman miniatures, Islamic calligraphic manuscripts as well as Ottoman treasures and jewellery.
After lunch at the local restaurant proceed to Hippodrome. Here we see an Egyptian Obelisk and the Snake Column from ancient Roman Empire which used to promote regional power during horse chariots races. Next, you will see the German Fountain which was a gift of Kaiser Wilhelm 2. Listen the stories of his liaison with the orient. Then we go to the exciting Grand Bazaar. Following the introduction by our guide at Turkey’s biggest oriental carpet export center we will have some free time to browse its 1 200 spice and gold shops. After the tour transfer back to the hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 3 Istanbul Sightseeing Tour
Upon breakfast at the hotel meet with your guide and depart for Boat Trip on the Bosphorus: A traditional excursion by boat along the waterway seperating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion you will pass the magnificent Dolmabahce Palace, and further along, the parks and imperial pavillions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park, is Ciragan Palace, 300 meters of is marble facade faces the shore. At Ortakoy a great variety of artists gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortakoy is a symbol of tolerance with a church, a mosque and a synagogue existing side by side for centuries.
Spice Bazaar(Egyptian Bazaar): The air here is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme and every other concievable herb and spice.
A short drive from here brings us to the Eminonu Pier where we embark on a Bosphorus ferry for a 1 5 hours long breathtaking cruise along the Bosphorus strait which runs right through Istanbul city and also between Asia and Europe continents. Our expert local guide explains us about several Ottoman palaces ancient fortresses suspension continental bridges and wealthy shore villages with typical Ottoman architecture that we view along the shore.If time permits we have a short stop at an Istanbul leather wholesaler firm. After the tour transfer back to the hotel.
Day 4 Istanbul Departure Transfer
After breakfast at the hotel check out and will be transferred to Istanbul Ataturk Airport according to guests flight time. End of our services.
